 "Unexpected Surprise: Holland's Mom Receives Free Roof, a Blessing Before Second Baby's Arrival"

A Lakeshore mother will literally have a new roof over her head. She got a special surprise earlier today to help her family out before their second baby arrives. It's part of a local nonprofit's mission to help moms succeed 13 on Your Sides Andrea Flores joins us now with the story. Juliette Moms Blossom and Armored Roofing and Construction say one woman's selfless decisions set her above the rest in this giveaway.

Do you want a free roof giveaway? Pretty cool, huh? This was an unexpected knock on the door for Charlene Nichols and her family. We are just really grateful. Really blessed. I am still, like, in shock. She won a free roof for her Fixer upper home in Holland after applying to the Mother's Day giveaway from Moms Bloom and Armored Roofing and Construction I'd kind of forgotten about.

Turning it, to be honest, a new roof can cost $10,000. We went through about 60 or 70 different contestants for the free Roof giveaway and we stumbled across this amazing story. Shirley grew up in West Michigan but moved away for a few years and started her family. She decided to come back home, though, to help care for her siblings with special needs.

We want to make sure that people who are putting family first are being supportive moms. Bloom provides postpartum support. Their local mothers actually gonna be serving Sherilee after her baby is soon born, with the support of a volunteer who will come into her home and will do things like hold the baby so that she can take a nap or a shower.

Will possibly help her with dishes and laundry, will help screen her for postpartum depression or anxiety, and maybe help get her connected with a therapist or other community resources that she needs. And this free roof will help her and her growing family make their new house a home we're racing against the clock before.

Baby arrives in 10 weeks and on the list was getting the roof done. So very exciting to have that one checked off the list and such a huge blessing to our family as we prepare for another baby coming.
