$300+ Per Day on This Freelance Platform? People Per Hour Review (Full Truth)
INTRODUCTIONS
Is People Per Hour really a freelance platform where you potentially can earn more than $300 per day or is it a waste of time? My name is Mikael and many of you have asked me about this platform. So I decided to test it and take a closer look. And in this People Per Hour review, I will give you an inside look and I will reveal both the pros and the cons.
And let me just reveal right away that it definitely has both and you do need to consider all of these details before you find out if this is the right opportunity for you or not. So let's start by going over the basics of what People Per Hour is and how to join. And People Per Hour is a freelance platform so people can come here and search for freelancers to do tasks for them.
As you can see at the top of the website, it can be within technology and programming, and just within that category, there are many writing and translations, many different categories, design, and digital marketing. You can see there are a lot of different freelance opportunities here. And you can join it from basically all countries. But you do need to be approved first.
You need to go to where it says freelancer and then you need to sign up say I want to work as a freelancer and then sign up with your email, or you can also use Facebook. And then once you have confirmed your email, you'll be taken inside where you have to fill out your profile.
And you need to take a little bit of time to do this because this is where potential employers will find out who you are and what you offer. So you need to do it properly. What then can be a little bit of a surprise is that once you have filled out your profile then you want to continue and then there will be a pop-up. I took a screenshot when that happened to me.
I will leave it here on this screen and that is where you can pay to have it basically instantly approved or within one day you will have your profile approved. Or you can do the regular one where you can have to wait up to seven days to have it approved but you have to pay to be instantly approved.
So that's just you know I haven't really seen something like that on other freelance platforms. But I chose the free option and I was actually approved, I think it was like within 10 hours or something like that. So it doesn't mean that you will have to wait a long time even if you choose the free option but you might have to.
But this is just something to be aware of. I very quickly got accepted without paying any fee so that's just something to consider. But let's now then take an inside look so you can see what it offers on the inside. So once you're inside, you can start looking for work. You can also of course make sure that you actually write a proper description so people will reach out to you.
We'll go over these project invitations in just a bit. But what I would also suggest is that you go through the categories and look what other Freelancers in your specific line of work are doing and what they're offering. Because when you're brand new you need to first build up a reputation so you need to see what are others offering, what are the charging for it. And then make a proper offer like that.
So that's the first thing you need to make sure to actually make a good offer like that. So people might reach out to you and you can also see you can click to post an offer and also fill that out. And actually something that people can then go there and buy. So that's also something you can consider.
But you can also go to the search bar and search for projects. So that's a freelancer there you go and search for projects, and then you can see examples for example here a fixed price 885 dollars for this particular one. But this is also a face-to-face salesperson. But you see there are many like fixed prices. This is 32 dollars per hour. This one $500 uh fixed price.
But of course the more you will get the more work you should also required. That's just basically how it is. And you see here also you need to you do this and you will get $379. But then what you need to do is to click what sounds interesting and relevant for you. And then you need to look at the exact description and then you can go and for example read it.
I just chose a random one now you can read the description there. And then you can also then read your or put in your proposal. But what you can also see is that already now 29 others have actually made a proposal and it has only been like six hours ago since it was published. So there is quite a bit of competition. So you do need to stand out. You do need to have the skills.
You need to be patient because if there's you know maybe 50 or 100 people applying for the same position, yeah it can be hard to get it. And also I would suggest that you're fast because if you wait and apply for the ones that are several days old, they might already have found someone because they just have to close it down at some point.
They can't like keep going through applications. So this is how you can find work in here. But there are some extra things you need to consider when it comes to fees. So let's go over that also. You see when you are then ready to send a proposal, you can scroll down and you can see that I have 15 proposal credits available.
And I need to use these proposal credits to actually send proposals. And when I run out, I need to buy more. So you can see for example here, I can buy five for eleven dollars there. Or 50 for like $41. And this means that I actually need to pay every time I give a proposal.
And as you can see you might need to give a lot of proposal to get hired because there's a lot of people doing this. So this is also a little bit unusual compared to many other freelance platforms I've tested and it's something you need to be aware of. You can't just send unlimited proposals and I'm assuming they're doing this to try to avoid people just spamming.
But still again it it you know, when you're new, you will have to shell out quite a bit of money before you can potentially then start finding work. But at least they give you 15 credits for free when you first start. So that's nice.
And another thing also you have to consider is that you can actually buy exposure. So you can pay to also have more exposure. So there's quite a few extra little things and fees that you can consider in here. But of course you know if you didn't get any jobs yet, then you might end up losing money instead.
Also there is something about the fees when you're withdrawing we need to talk a little bit about or when you're earning in general. But first let's go over these proposals that some people might send to you because I was a little bit worried about that. So I just want to give you a warning what you need to be careful of when people are reaching out to you.
So I just jumped back to my profile here and you can see I was reached out to quite quickly by a lot. But some of them were even like removed very quickly but what I found strange is that all of these here they look very strange. You see here again, first of all, they say hi Nadia. You know, couldn't they at least have like just not mentioned a name if they're going to do, they try.
And then they make these like uh a thousand dollars, a deadline in three days you need to do this, oh but due to traffic problems we can't reply here. So kindly contact so we can discuss here. Huge red flag. What does it mean do you do traffic problems. And then they want me to reach out on telegram you know.
And the thing is that when I look through this all of these ones here, hi Leroy, so now my name is Leroy you know. This is the same profile right and here also due to traffic problems we can't reply so please contact us via telegram, right. And that's all of them. All of them were like that that people reached out to me here uh without I actually didn't post an offer anything like that here. Now hi Christine, you know three thousand dollars.
So they make these like exaggerated claims but all the time they want you to contact you or them on a telegram. So if you decide to create a profile after watching this review, be careful about these project invitations because clearly something dodgy is going on and it worries me a little bit that so many projects like this assuming people like this can can do these spam my outreach that People Per Hour has not done anything to actually stop it because I've already already received quite a few.
And all of them are like this. But with that warning out of the way, let's talk a little bit more about how you can get paid. So when it comes to the payment methods, you can see that you can go and add your withdrawal accounts. And you can get paid via Paypal, Payoneer, Bank transfer.
So some great payout options for sure. And I do like that they offer all these different options. That also means that no matter where you live, no matter your preferences, you can get paid in cash easily. And once you've actually accepted the project, or you have agreed with a potential employer and then the money will be transferred from the employer into escrow. So the money will be held there.
And then once you've completed it, it will be released into your account. So that's kind of a security for both parties. And I do like that they have this system but there are some things that you also need to be aware when it comes to the service fees that they also charge when you earn in here and when you withdraw.
So when you look at these service fees, that's something very important to be aware of because you can see when you have one buyer the first 350 dollars that you earn with them you will pay 20% service fee. You know, that's very high.
And many projects are below 350 dollars and you have to pay to give a proposal you know. Then also have to pay 20% service fee. Like it's very normal for freelance platforms to have service fees because they need to make money. But People Per Hour both charges you to send proposal potentially even to approve you if you going for the speedy one. And also they you know you might end up paying to get more exposure because you can also do that.
And then the charge this much and this is also quite high compared to most other freelance platforms. And you see then with the next buyer, so this is also why it makes sense if you can keep getting repeat clients or the same client hire you several times because then you see the amount will significantly be lower.
So if you manage to have one client that will make you more than seven thousand dollars, then we are down to three and a half percent. But still you know that that's fair. I think that's okay. But you know that's a lot of work you need to reach before you get to that level. And as you can see it says work build on the zero commission scheme is excluded.
So zero commission means that if you refer a client, if you have a person that you're working with that you refer them to the platform uh with a link here and they then hire you inside here, and then uh you know then there will not be a commission. So that's that's at least nice.
But I'm just thinking like you know I've worked as freelance a lot also, so if I had a client, why would I refer them here to people. Why wouldn't I just work directly with them if I haven't. The only reason I can see for that is if you need to have a client in here to get some positive reviews.
If not, you know, I would just keep them off the platform and just deal with them directly you know. That's just my personal opinion. But anyways, these are just the fees you need to be aware of. So to sum it all up, People Per Hour can be a way to earn some good money potentially as a freelancer.
But there are also some things you need to be aware of. It has quite high fees compared to many other platforms, freelance platforms that I've tested. And especially because there's these like you have to pay to send a proposal. The service fees for the first money you earn are quite high.
All these different things they also like try to kind of trying to encourage you to pay to get approved quickly. So it's not ideal like that. But there is a lot of work here. But just be aware as I showed you also when people reach out to you, be very critical about these project invitation because there's a lot of really big red flags in some of the ones that I received anyways.
But it can be a way if you're patient enough to build up your reputation and if you're qualified and you know that you have the skills to do that, then you can build it up to potentially $300 per day, even more. But it will require quite a lot of effort and quite a lot of skills.
Personally I would say that if you have those skill so if you're interested in learning skills instead. Why not start your own online business where you can just do tasks for yourself? Your own online business. That can lead up to huge earnings also and probably even more than you can imagine also if you do it correctly. And then you would not be dependent on someone else hiring you. That's what I've done personally.
And I also do have some more information about the exact steps that I've taken to create my own online business. I will leave a link to more info about that below. That is only if you're serious because that's not something that will give you earnings overnight. That requires continuous effort and time to reach that level.
But then you can also give huge freedom. But if you're more interested in freelance platform or freelance work, yes, People Per Hour can be an option. But I also do have a list on my website of the best freelance platforms and some of them charges quite a bit less fees and things like that.
And in general, it can always be good to join more freelance platforms to get a bigger opportunity of earning. So I'll leave a link below to that list also. Till then you can check out the info that fits your preferences the best. But no matter what, I hope this video helped you.
